2018 Classic Five Golf Tournament Series

There are three events in the 2018 Classic Five Golf Tournament Series and all tournaments are open to amateur golfers no matter their club affiliation.

 

2018 Baltimore Match Play Championship
Saturday, July 7, 2018 – Clifton Park Golf Course

The 2018 Baltimore Match Play Championship will be conducted from July 7th through July 15th. Clifton Park will host the Qualifier on July 7th with the low 31 moving on to the Match Play portion of the tournament. The qualifying round will determine the player’s position within the field.

Format: Stroke Play, 18 holes, with the low 31 players qualifying to match play.

Eligibility: Entries open to all amateur golfers.

Entry Information: The field for the Qualifier will be limited to 132 eligible amateur golfers.  Entries must be received by 5PM on Friday, June 29th or when filled.  No refunds after June 29th.  No exceptions.

Starting Times: The Qualifier will be from the 1st tee beginning at 10:30 AM.  The Match Play schedule is below.

Match Play: The match play qualifiers are required to play the matches on the dates and times scheduled.

Prizes: Trophies will be awarded for the low qualifier, the Champion and Runner-up.  Gift Certificates will be awarded to those who qualify for match play, with the amount increasing based on advancement within the tournament.

Entry Fee: $90.00 includes greens fee and cart for the entire event.

The match play qualifiers are required to play the matches on the dates and times scheduled.  The qualifier and matches are scheduled on successive weekends to expedite the crowning of the match play champion.

2018 Baltimore Amateur Championship
August 4th                                                         August 5th

Format: Stroke Play, 36 holes, flighted by handicap, played at scratch within each flight. All participants wishing to compete for the overall Championship must compete in the Championship Flight. The final flight will compete for both gross and net awards. To compete in the Senior Division, players must have reached their 55th birthday no later than Saturday, August 4, 2018.

Eligibility: Entries open to all amateur golfers. All entrants must have a verifiable USGA index. Maximum USGA Index for men is 36.0. Maximum USGA Index for women is 40.0.

Entry Information: The field will be limited to the first 132 eligible amateur golfers.  Entries must be received by 5PM on Wednesday, August 1st or when filled.  No refunds after August 3rd.  No exceptions.

Starting Times: Starting times will be assigned according to flight breakdowns both days beginning at 9:00 AM.

Prizes: Gift certificates and trophies will be awarded for overall champion, gross and net flight winners. Additional prizes will be determined by the final size of the flight breakdowns.

2018 Baltimore Two-Man Team Championship

2018 Baltimore Two-Man Team Champions Jeremy Goodwin and Brendan McKinney

Congratulations to Jeremy Goodwin and Brendan McKinney for winning the 2018 Baltimore Two-Man Team Championship with a score of 64. Jeremy birdied 4 & 6 while Brendan birdied 1, 3, 9, 17 & 18. The combination yielded 7 birdies to no bogeys. Their closest competitors were Billy Wingerd & Rusty McCready. Billy had 3 birdies on 1, 3 & 8 while Rusty added a late birdie on #15. They carded a score of 66 but fell two shots short of the McKinney - Goodwin twosome.

2018 Baltimore Two-Man Team Senior Division Champions Michael Panos and Craig Ostrom

In the Senior Division, Michael Panos and Craig Ostrom edged Jeff Amrhein and Dale Williams by one shot with a score of 72 to win the 2018 Baltimore Two-Man Team Championship Senior Division. Dale Williams birdied # 3 to take a 1 shot lead. But Craig Ostrom birdied 6 & 7 to make the turn in 34 and give the Panos Ostrom a 1 shot lead. That was this difference as both teams carded a 38 on the back nine.
